What to Expect on Your First Real Estate Recruiting Call at Premier Home Team

If you’re considering a career, or a career change in Real Estate, you’re likely feeling some uncertainty about making the right career decision.

Maybe you’re newly licensed and preparing for your first interview.  You’re worried that this call will turn into a pressured sales pitch.  You’re nervous, wondering if you’re experienced enough.

Or maybe you’re already selling but you’re nervous about being judged on your production. You’re questioning whether joining a team would help you grow faster, or earn more.

You may have even been “pitched” before and don’t want another sales presentation.

No matter where you are in your career, you want to know one thing:  Is this call actually worth your time?

We understand that hesitation. That’s exactly why we designed our first recruiting conversation differently.

At Premier Home Team, your first recruiting call isn’t a high pressure interview. It’s not a pitch. And it’s not a commitment conversation.

Over the last five years, we’ve interviewed more than 100 agents at every stage of their career, and we’ve designed this 15-minute discovery call to create clarity for both of us.

During the call, we’ll cover:

  • How long the call lasts
  • What we talk about during the call
  • What concerns typically come up
  • What we’re listening for
  • What a successful call looks like

By the end of this article, you’ll know exactly what to expect on your first recruiting call with Premier Home Team, and you’ll be able to confidently decide if it’s the right next step for you.

How Long Does the First Recruiting Call Typically Last?

The introductory call with Premier Home Team is intentionally short,  about 15 minutes, because the goal isn’t to convince you of anything. It’s to see if there’s a potential path forward.

We think of it as mutual discovery.

  • We learn about your goals for your career in Real Estate
  • You learn about what it’s like here for our successful agents
  • Together, we determine if it makes sense to continue the conversation

We're really upfront about who we are and how our team operates, so you can determine whether it aligns with what you’re looking for.

If there’s alignment, we schedule a deeper conversation. If there’s not, you walk away with clarity and so do we.

That alone saves everyone time.

What Do We Talk About During Your First Recruiting Call?

You might expect us to spend most of the call explaining our model, splits, or benefits.

In reality, we spend about 10 of the 15 minutes listening to you. The conversation starts with simple but meaningful questions:

  • What sparked your interest in speaking with our team?
  • Where are you right now in your career?
  • What are you trying to build?
  • What does “winning” look like for you?

That last question is more important than most people realize.

For one agent, winning might mean building passive income and long-term wealth. For another, it might mean flexibility to spend time with family. For someone else, it’s selling 30 homes a year.

There is no universal definition of success in real estate. But there is a best path for each individual.

Before we talk about our team, we want to understand your larger ambitions, and the deeper “why” behind them.

Only then can we explain how our structure works and whether it supports the goals you’ve described.

And that explanation reflects the goals you’ve described.

Who is This First Recruiting Call For?

This introductory recruiting call is useful whether you are:

  • Newly licensed
  • Early in your first year
  • Experienced but exploring a change
  • Still evaluating whether to join a team or go solo

New agents often use this call to understand how real estate teams actually work. Sometimes we’re the first team they’ve spoken with. In some cases, we simply answer foundational questions about how the industry operates.

Experienced agents, on the other hand, often come in with clearer goals, but may need help evaluating leverage, support systems, or scalability.

Either way, the conversation is tailored to where you are and where you’re trying to go.

What Concerns Typically Come Up During the Recruiting Call?

Even when they aren’t spoken directly, most agents bring some version of these questions into the call:

  • Am I experienced enough?
  • Will I get leads?
  • What kind of support will I actually receive?
  • How does compensation work?

We address these honestly.

Inexperience does not automatically limit success. We’ve had agents sell 24–26 homes in their first year, others have realized team life wasn’t the right fit, and that clarity saved them time. Results vary widely depending on effort, market conditions, and consistency. What matters most is the willingness to do the activities that drive success.

We also briefly explain how our model is structured, including:

  • High-level leverage (leads, technology and admin support)
  • Education and structured training
  • One-on-one mentorship

We don’t go deep into splits and financial structure during this first call unless it’s necessary because compensation makes sense in the context of support, structure, and expectations. That conversation is usually better suited for the next step, but if you ask, we’ll answer transparently.

The purpose isn’t to overwhelm you with information. It’s to give you enough clarity to decide whether continuing the conversation makes sense.

What Are We Evaluating on the First Recruiting Call?

In a short call like this, you might assume we’re evaluating your production numbers or résumé.

While experience matters, this first conversation isn’t about passing or failing. It’s about determining fit.

Real estate is competitive and emotionally demanding, especially in the early years. Not everyone thrives in the same environment. Some agents flourish with structure and accountability. Others prefer full independence.

During the call, we’re listening for signs of:

  • Coachability
  • Work ethic
  • Willingness to take action
  • How you’ve handled adversity in the past

Not because we expect perfection, but because the team model requires a certain level of commitment and follow-through.

Experience can be developed. But alignment between your goals, personality, and the structure of a team environment is what plays a major role in long-term success.

If that alignment isn’t there, it’s better to discover that early.

Can This Call Help You Decide Between Joining a Team or Going Solo?

The 15-minute call won’t fully resolve the team-versus-solo debate, that’s usually a deeper discussion.

But it does begin to surface an important question: What is the most efficient path to the future you’re trying to build?

There are multiple ways to succeed in real estate. Different paths work for different people, depending on their goals, risk tolerance, and timeline.

If there’s mutual interest after the call, we move to a longer, in-person or more in-depth meeting where we explore the team path in detail.

If not, you still walk away with more clarity than you had before, saving time and energy.

What Does a “Successful” First Recruiting Call Actually Look Like?

Success does not automatically mean “you’re hired.”

A successful first recruiting call means:

  • You gain insight about what you want out of your Real Estate Career
  • We gain insight about who you are and what drives you
  • Both sides determine whether it makes sense to go deeper

Not everyone is the right fit for Premier Home Team, and we’re not the right fit for everyone.

That’s okay.

In fact, discovering that early is better than discovering it six months in.

Ultimately, this conversation is about helping you find the right environment to accomplish something meaningful, and whether that’s with us or somewhere else.

Your Next Step If You Want More Clarity About Your Real Estate Career

If you came into this article feeling uncertain about what a recruiting call might involve, that hesitation makes sense. Changing brokerages, or starting a real estate career is a significant decision.

Now you know what this first conversation actually looks like:

  • It’s short.
  • It’s focused on your goals.
  • It’s not a pressure-filled pitch.
  • And it’s designed to determine alignment — not force a decision.

For some agents, that first call confirms they want to go deeper. For others, it provides clarity that their current path is the right one. Either outcome is valuable.

Building a successful real estate career isn’t about making fast decisions. It’s about finding the right environment for how you want to grow.

If you’d like a focused, low-pressure conversation about your goals and whether a team model fits what you’re trying to build, you can schedule a 15-minute introductory recruiting call with our team leader.

There’s no obligation to move forward after that call. Its purpose is simple: clarity.

For some agents, that clarity confirms they want to explore the team model further. For others, it reinforces that their current path is the right one.

Either outcome is progress.

If and when you feel ready to have that conversation, the opportunity is there.
